Chests
Red chests: fixed contents, once. Blue chests: contents rolled by rank (1 to 5) each time you enter the room, restocked every time the game is loaded. Grotto chests: rank I (lowest) to S (best) depending on the floor. See the glossary.

How it works: Blue chests and furniture
The essentials
- Red chests: fixed contents, once per game.
- Blue chests, pots, barrels, wardrobes: until opened, their contents are rolled each time you enter the room; everything refills when you reload the game (not with a quick save).
- Red chest: fixed contents, opens only once per game.
- Blue chest, pot, barrel, wardrobe: until opened, its contents are rolled again each time you enter the room (rank or level table). The roll uses the current random generator with no fixed seed, which is what makes manipulation possible (yabd.org's “Blue Chests” tool).
- Restock: loading a regular save resets every blue chest and piece of furniture to closed. Resuming a quick save does not.
- Level-0 furniture (2 pots at the Gortress, 2 barrels in the Bloomingdale inn) is always empty.
